"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"The Three C's: Which One Are You"

Happy Wednesday – Good morning sisters; are you ready for this beautiful day today? Well then, on your mark, get set, and go. I don’t know about you, but some days, I feel just like that when I get up. It’s like you have so much on your plate, that you feel like you’re physically running a race. But today is hump day; the day that we slide down, right into the weekend, and hopefully once there, you get a chance to rest. Anyways, this morning as I was meditating, I thought about these three words: competition, confidence, covetousness. Now what does these three words have to do with us, you might ask? Well, they mean a lot among women. Have you ever heard the slogan, “Keeping Up, With the Jones’”? Well, that’s how it is sometimes, among us, as women and young women. We have a tendency to see another sister, or girl, who appears, from our perspective, like they have it all together. But what we really can’t see, is what this woman or young woman, is dealing with, how she got what she got, and the price she has/had to pay, in order to have what she got or gets. And once we get this thought in our mind, instead of having our own “confidence” within ourselves to either compliment her or give her words of kindness, we end up taking on the spirit of “competition and covetousness.” We say within ourselves, “she ain’t all that; I can get that same pocketbook too, but bigger.” And that's exactly what we do, and my question is, why? Please note; that everyone has a story, including you. Now, some might ask, is it wrong to want to have some things like someone else has – no; its only wrong, when you don’t care what you do, or who you hurt, in order to get it. Covetousness, among sisters, is nothing but petty greed, and materialism, that automatically throws us into an immature, competitive, position. And the sad thing is that, when we act this way, it only shows that we don’t have enough confidence or belief within ourselves to work hard and get those things that we desire, the right way; real blessings never come with sorrow attached to them. Are you starting to see how these words mirror us as women and young ladies at times? Sisters, there is no need to keep up with the Jones, or anybody else; you got your own unique thing and qualities going on; just find out, what it is. And when you do, help the next young lady to realize, that she does not have to be competitive, nor covetous, all she has to be is confident, about who she is. Peace & Love…
