DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.

"Getting Fit - Let's Do It"

Happy “Motivational” Monday – Welcome back sisters to our favorite day. Did you get a chance to relax, or was your weekend filled with all types of errands and chores, that you did not get a chance to do during the week? To my sisters who held it down this weekend, enjoy your time of rest today. This morning as I was preparing for work, the motivational thought that came to me this morning was, “let’s do it.” Let’s do what, you are asking? Let’s get out there, and start walking the pounds away. No longer will we stand on the side lines and look at other sisters and say, I remember when I used to look like that. Well, you may never go back to the shape you once had, but you can be healthy and fit. All this week, I’m dedicating it to getting fit. I’m starting today by walking. I’m curious to know what you will be doing. I will ask this of you, please keep me in prayer when it comes to glaze donuts; such a weakness. Instead of eating two almost every other day, I need to cut down to one donut, once a week. What is your weakness, and what do you need us to agree with you on in order to help you achieve your goal. And let me throw this out to you, that a personal trainer once told me; yes, I had a personal trainer at one point (What happened to those days?…lol). She stated,” don’t try and kill your self physically, by trying to get a shape that someone else has; always remember, that DNA plays a major role in your body shape.” Just thought I share that with you. So who is with me? Are you feeling it, are you starting to get revved up? Then ladies, put on those sneaks, and let’s get to walking. Woohoo!!!!
