DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

"Prioritze"
Happy Sunday - I pray everyone had a beautiful day today where ever it was that you may have spent it; I drove to Philly to pick up my son. As I cruised down the highway today listening to music, with my sunroof open, and the warmth of the sun beaming down on me, I began to do some self-evaluation. That's what a long drive alone does for me; it helps me to meditate, evaluate, and prioritize. And right now what I need to prioritize more than anything in my life, is my health. Does anyone else feel like that? The other day, as I was walking through the halls at work sort of swiftly, I realized, that I kept becoming short of breath. That is not a good thing, especially since high blood pressure, high cholesterol and cardiac disease, runs in my family rampid. So, today, I said to myself, with the weather now becoming much warmer, even if I only walk a 1/2 a mile a day, I was going to start doing some form of exercise; I owe that to myself, my family, and to God, who gave me this temple to take care of. So, if anyone else feels that way, feel free to join me. It may be hard starting out, but I guarantee, that the end result will be worth it. In closing, I leave you with this thought: One day, I was listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show (which I love listening to), and he said something that has stuck with me. He said, "all his life he has been around church folk, and they have a saying that states, "when it's your time, it's your time." And he said, he understood that, but the point he was trying to make was this, "don't speed up your time any sooner though, by not taking care of yourself." My sentiments exactly, Mr. Harvey. Ladies, let's take care of ourselves. We may not have started out right in 2010 as far as our health, but we sure don't have to end it the same way. Have a wonderful rest of the evening, and if you get a minute to yourself, think about what it is that you need to prioritize in your life, in order to make a better and healthier you. Peace & Love...
