"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"Quality Substance"

Happy Self-Love Tuesday – Have you ever looked at a person and wondered what they were about; what kind of quality substance, are they made out of. Wonder if what they possess is essential to their well being, or if what they show is just surface only. When I think of the word substance, I think of the true definition of a person; their character, their personality, their mannerism. But often times as women, our substance, is only surface. We rock all the designer clothes and shoes, our hand bags are by the best designers, our hairs and nails are always done, we ride in the best cars, and we live in the best of the best homes. Am I saying that we shouldn’t have those things, absolutely not –if we have worked hard for those things, we have every right to work it. However, what I am saying, is this, is that all there is to us? If we did not have those things, what else would we have to offer? Is there still some substance to us that is not, materialistic? When people see us, they should see more to us other than materialism, and/or our physical and outward appearance. When they see us, they should see, women of character, regardless of what we’re wearing, what we’re driving, and where we live. When they look at our pretty faces and brickhouse shapes, they should know not only do we possess these features, but beneath all of this, also lies, a woman who is intelligent, compassionate, and who has dreams and aspirations. I don’t know if you know it or not sis, but you are made from good stock, regardless of what your past has been like. However, we should never let our past be the reason for us to think that we have nothing else to offer; quality substance always has something to offer. So go on girl, and shine, show them it’s more to you, than what they see from the outward appearance. Know that you are, a woman of substance. You better work it. Peace & Love…
