"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"Get Settled, and Organize"

Good Evening Beautiful Ones - Well, it's the 4th day of the year. For most of us, that meant, our holiday vacation was over Sunday evening, and we are back to our routine on yesterday. Children went back to school, traffic was horrendous again, basketball games, practices, gym, etc. Then for others, it means a different outlook; a new perspective; a new adventure - that's the kind of energy that a new year brings. (If you've noticed, I've even made some changes to this blog - hope you like it) But as I meditated on these thoughts today, this word came to mind: organization. Before we make plans to do anything in this new year, we should organize some things in our lives.

Growing up, my mother had a saying, which in hindsight now, made a lot of sense. She used to say, "you are busy doing nothing". Meaning, I was all over the place, with my hands in everything, but not one thing was being accomplished. Part of the reason for that, was because I was not organized in my deeds, in my actions, or my emotions - I just kind of went which ever way the wind blew. So you can imagine how crazy I was, and looked. Just no structure nowhere.

In the corporate world though, organization meant decluttering a heap of things that were no longer needed. And so it is in our lives...get rid of things and people who keep you scattered brained in your deeds, cluttered emotionally and discombobulated in your actions - organize.

Also when we think of organization, most times, we think of groups coming together for a cause, or ridding our desk of piles of paper work (I'm currently dealing with that right now at work - lol!!). But I would like to take it a step further: In order to be organized in deeds, we must first have organization of self. When we have no control over our thoughts, emotions, or actions, it will show, by the way we handle our business. Just think about that for a minute. Things that make you go hmmmm....

So as we settle in to this new year, and as we start pursuing our goals and dreams, make sure that we have some organization of self. Let's take time to learn how to become organized and calm in our thinking and in our spirit, so that our emotions won't rule us. Because when we're not, we begin to unravel at the seams, which in turn, will cause disorganization; from disorganization, to frustration; from frustration, to getting nothing accomplished; to eventually loses and wasted time. And if you know like I know, life is too precious, and too valuable, to waste.

Wow, this is really hitting home with me tonight. I hope it does the same for you.

Peace & Love...
