"I Can Show You Better Than I Can Tell You"
Happy Monday - "Growing up, my mother used to have this saying, "I can show you, better than I can tell you." And when she said that, it was on and popping. It forced people to recognize and respect her choices and decisions. It has become a part of my character as well. - Last night I had the pleasure along with so many others to see the New Orleans Saints for the first time in history win a Super Bowl. This team had never been to a Super Bowl, and look, they won - 2010 was their year; they started the new decade off right. New Orleans has been through so much tragedy with Katrina, seeing this win for them last night, gave me so much joy. It also prompted something in my spirit. In life, when you are considered the underdog, people have a tendency to cast you aside, because you are not the favorable, popular one. But for some reason, I've always loved the underdog, and I think I'm like that, because as I've looked back over my life, I have been considered an underdog myself, once or twice. When you are labeled that, people don't have faith in you, they don't think you can achieve greatness due to past failures or mistakes, or better yet, they think you are not worthy enough to receive the best. But as I watched the game last night, I kept saying to the TV screen, "come on Saints, show them what you can do; take heart." And boy, did they show the millions of people that were watching them, something. And as the confetti was coming down, and as they were celebrated, I thought to myself, see, this is what I love about underdogs, they know they are considered the less favorable one, therefore, they make up in their minds, "I'm gonna have to show you what I can do." So my question for you today is, are you an underdog, have you been considered the less favorable one. If you are, then baby, take heed to the words my momma has taught me, and tell your nay sayers, "I can show you, better than I can tell you." Enjoy your day, today. Peace & Love...
