"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"Move that Body"

Stroke Awareness Week

Happy Wednesday - It is hump day...we are almost there ladies. I pray this inform that have been sharing this week has been helpful and thought provoking. Today, as I was sitting with my Fitness Plus Instructor, I shared what I was doing, and she gave this advice from a cardio standpoint:

  • Exercise - Another cause of stroke, is obesity. Being overweight, increases our risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, and other factors. Therefore, it is important that we get proper exercise for our bodies. You don't have to be over the top; you can work at your own pace, but as long as you are doing something, to keep the body moving, you are fine.

  • Eating Right - Getting plenty of fruits, vegetable, and proteins, are all apart of stroke prevention. Each day, try and choose a vegetable or a fruit to supplement the fatty foods that we tend to eat for comfort. It's a sacrifice, but it will be well worth it in the end. Besides, you owe that to yourself.

I thanked her for this information, and felt it was suitable enough to share with you. Starting Friday, I will be back in fitness class...wish me luck, because she is an instructor who does not play. But it's all for the betterment of me.

I pray you ladies have had a great day today, and that tonight, you will think about these suggestions and start your own plan, for getting healthy. Peace & Love...
