"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"Main Common Strokes"

Stroke Awareness Week

Happy Tuesday - Good morning ladies, are we up and about on this rainy Tuesday. I'm dragging just a little, but I'm going to keep moving, I'm sure I will get some energy as the day progresses. Today, I want to share with you, as we are doing Stroke awareness, what is a stroke, and the two main common strokes (although there are more) that affect people. Please see:

A stroke occurs when there's a problem with the amount of blood in your brain. The causes of the main type of stroke: ischemic stroke - where there is too little blood in the brain & hemorrhagic stroke - where there is too much blood within the skull.

Ischemic stroke - About 80% of strokes are ischemic strokes. They occur when the arteries to your brain are narrowed or blocked, causing severely reduced blood flow (ischemia). This deprives your brain cells of oxygen and nutrients, and cells may begin to die within minutes.

Hemorrhagic stroke - Hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel in your brain leaks or ruptures. Hemorrhages can result froma number of conditions that affect your blood vessels, including uncontrolled high blood pressure (hypertension) and weak spots in your blood vessel walls (aneurysm).

I'm not putting this information out by no means to frighten you, but to get you to thinking about some changes that may help us all to live a long, productive, and prosperous life. Peace & Love...
