"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"I Challenge You"

Happy “Motivational” Monday – Sistahs, welcome back from your weekend, I pray it was spent doing what made you happy. To my single and married mothers who had to handle your business this weekend to provide for your families; sisters, enjoy your day. Last night as I retired to my bed, I was thinking of what to day today, and this is what hit me – challenge yourself. Challenge myself to do what, you might ask? Challenge yourself to eat right, to exercise, to love, to forgive, to grow, to soar to higher heights, to let go of the past and grab hold to your future, to laugh, to cry, to do whatever needs to be done, to become a better you. So often we challenge ourselves to things that are not beneficial to our well being. But as you can see, there are a lot of challenges that can propel us into someone that we never knew we could be. Ladies, we are the blessing that God created for our male counterparts and for our children. We set the example, and we have the power to shape and mold a child’s mind unto good works. Girlfriends, we are some bad mamma jammas. However, we have a tendency to lose focus of who we are. And losing focus doesn’t necessarily mean visually. Sometimes, we lose focus on our appearance, on our health, on our attitude (ouch), and of course, on our dreams and desires. So, as I close, I want to reiterate what the motivation for today is, and it is, to challenge yourself. I don’t know which challenge you may need to work on first, but which ever one it is, start working on it today. For me, my challenge has been my health. It’s a challenge for me to eat right. It’s hard to grab an orange, when I see that strawberry shortcake waiting for me to take a piece of it (lol). Anyways, let’s do what we can to encourage each other to meet those challenged goals. Remember, we are our sisters’ keepers. Peace & Love…
