"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"The Definition of You Is..."

Happy "Self-Love" Tuesday - Hey everybody. It seems like it is getting later and later, that I get a chance to write. I have had a lot going on. However, it does not stop my mind from producing things to share with you. A while back, I shared the thought of people defining who you are by the way they think. And so, I'm back on that kick today, as it has dropped in my spirit again. I don't know who is going through this, but you have to always remember, that you should never let anyone define who you are; you were defined in your mother's womb. People have a tendency to tell you who you are, and what you should and shouldn't do according to the way they see things. But did you forget, that you have your own mind, and that it's best for you to do what pleases you and not them. Let them figure out their own definition. In typing this, I feel like someone wants to do, or wants to become something, but will not, because of the thoughts of people. Girl, listen, tune them right on out, and start doing what it is that you have been daydreaming about. And even if it doesn't pan out the way you want it to, take satisfaction in knowing, that at least you tried. That's probably more than what "they" have done. Here is something that I want to leave with you. A long time ago, while sitting in the cafeteria eating lunch, the people that came in and out, began to catch my attention. As I watched them, I could see through their face expressions, some who loved their job, some who had to work (as we all do), and some, who were just plain miserable. The ones who appeared miserable, were not only that, but they were angry. When they spoke, they were negative, and when asked to do something, they did it gripping and complaining. It was right then and there, I said, I never want to be like that. But then it hit me, these people have never had a chance to do anything they wanted to do. They have been doing everything for everyone, because they were too afraid to do something different, because of what other people thought. That to me is enough to make you miserable, because when you get older and look back, you'll say to yourself, what have I done for me. So what does that have to do with defining you, you might ask? It is this, if people must define you, let them define as being a person who had the courage to do what you desired, to make your mark in this world. Let them define you by saying, that she never listened to peoples' opinions, but rather kept her faith in God, and allowed Him to direct her to her destiny. You know my favorite words..."Do you sis, and be happy, while doing your thing." Peace & Love....
