"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

Today Is A New Day...Get Moving

Today is a new day.  A day to get up, get moving and start living like it's your last.  Hey everyone how are you?  I'm up early enjoying the quietness and stillness of the morning.  I like to think this is the best part of the day.  Everyone is still sleeping and it's just you and God communicating.  I call it, the peace and tranquility time--that window of time before the busyness of the day starts.  And now that the holidays are upon us, we run into the frenzy of Christmas shopping.  So for just a few minutes, whether it be in the shower or bathtub; enjoy the solitude that the early morning brings.

I started off with, "today is a new day;" and if you think about it, it is.  Yesterday is gone with all of its problems and challenges that it brought, but today gives you another chance to live and do something different than you did the day before.  But why is it, that we like to stay in the past.  Why do we have such a hard time "moving forward" from the things that have not benefited or caused us to grow in certain aspects of our lives.  Well I may not have all of the answers but here is one that I think I can personally elaborate on -- we still have yet to understand this precious gift that has been given to us called, time.  Michael Jackson said it best on his Triumph cd:  "Time Waits for No One."
While we sit and ponder on the things of the past, continue to stay in relationships that mean us no good, keep stalling and making excuses as to why we can't accomplish our dreams, time is steadily moving; and before you know it, another day, month or year has eluded us.  And when you think about it, whose fault is it really?  It is our own.

Now you can say, sometimes in life different things come up which causes us to stop for a minute; and I will say true.  But when the minute/situation has passed, what do you do next.  Do you ponder over what was or do you continue to "move forward" because each day you choose not to, you are wasting the precious gift called, time.

In the wake of all the calamities that have been hitting our country and surrounding countries, the one thing I am clear of...time is very short; if we do not learn the value of it and learn how to maximize it with things that are beneficial to our lives and the ones who are connected to us, it's going to pass us by.

So today, get up and get moving because it's a new day and before you know it, another day will be on the horizon.

Peace & Love.....
