"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"Whatcha Got In Your Bag"

Happy Saturday Sisters - I pray that you all have had a great week, and I'm sure you are glad it's the weekend. I have been wanting to write all week, but things and situations got in the way, and by time I had a minute to do something, sleep became more appealing (lol!!).

Anyhoo...I wanted to share something that has been floating in my spirit all week; and that is, "whatcha got in your bag." As women, we love our purses and bags - the bigger they are, the more stuff we fill them with. If we are mothers; we got just about everything in there accept the kitchen sink. But if we thought we needed that too, and if we have a bag big enough to fit it in; oh, we would have it in there. As a hairstylist, my bag carries styling tools (flat iron, combs, etc.); whatever I think you will need for a quick fix on the go.

Bags and purses play major parts in a woman's life. They are the representations of who we are, and what our status is. According to the style of bag or purse, you can tell if a woman has money; is confident; or stylish. Bags and purses keep some of our most intimate things inside them (cell phones, make-up, wallet & personal information). But here's where my thought comes in; no matter what kind of bag or purse we have, there are two things that should not be found in them: jealousy and envy. Ooh; those two words, just made your nice beautiful bag/purse look tacky.

If those two items are found in your bag, then it will show how you feel about yourself; for real, for real. It will show, that the nice big designer bag that you sport and tote for all to see, and ooh and awh at, like you got it going on, is really just a cover-up for what you harbor in your heart (ouch!!). If you being a confident sister, like you want all to believe, then why would you have those two weights in your bag. Having those weights, will weigh your shoulder down, and eventually your spirit.

So the question remains, "whatcha got in your bag?" If it is something that you know shouldn't be there, and it is taking up space; get rid of it quickly - only keep the necessities that best represent you, and that can help others, if need be.

Alright ladies, that's my thought for today. Do you feel like cleaning out your bag/purse? I've cleaned mine. What? You think just because I write this, that I don't take heed to my own words. I let you in on a little secret; before I even share this, I'm checking myself first. I never like to feel I'm above anything or anyone. I'm living this thing called life, just like you.

I hope the remainder of your weekend will be fabulous. Grab your bag girl, and strut with the confidence of knowing that you do not carry anything that is non appealing to your persona.

Peace & Love....
