Happy Thursday evening - I'm writing so late tonight, but nonetheless, I'm writing this. My heart is overwhelmed tonight. I attended a program this evening that brought back a time in my life that I thought I would never get past - being a teenage mother. But I was reminded tonight, that life still went on, and I made it, and my son that I gave birth to, in less than three days, will be 26.
A fundraiser tonight, for teenage mothers, brought joy to my heart. Looking at the young woman tonight, I saw myself. I saw the fear, the embarrassment, the shame and the looks and snarls of people who thought it was a sin for young woman at my age (17), to be pregnant. My first thought was to abort my baby, but God had another plan, and He saw me through. And just like the women shared tonight how people sowed into their lives, God did the same thing for me.
I am just filled up tonight. Life is not over because you've made mistakes; that's just apart of life. As the speaker said tonight, pregnancy is not the only mistake that are made - we all have hidden sins that are not visible to the eye. And although people do not understand what's happening behind the scenes, God does. And that's all that matters.
If you have babies tonight, go in their room(s) and kiss them tonight, no matter what age they are. And if they are not living at home with you any longer, give them a call or send a text, and let them know that they were the best thing that has ever happened to you.
