"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"Balance: A Subtle Change"

Happy Thursday – All week, this one word has been coming to me; balance. Are we living a balanced life? I’ve often heard people say, that too much of anything is not good for you. And if you think about it, it’s true; some things we do, should be done in moderation. And I’m not just talking about partying, drinking, or whatever it is we do. I’m talking about just with every day living. Take for example, our schedules. Each week, we start off with a routine (whether it’s going to work, school, getting the family ready for the day, etc..), and we run that routine until we feel burned out. Then when we literally can’t take anymore, we say to ourselves, “I need a break.” The thing about routine is that, it’s never switched up; we do the same thing, the same way, over and over, everyday, to the point, it feels mundane. But then, that’s where the beauty of balance comes in; balance allows you, every now and then, to switch things up. Meaning, you don’t have to go down the same street, every day, or you don’t have to have that same old boring fried chicken, with the mashed potatoes and corn, on Tuesday evenings, that you normally do ( as quiet as it’s kept, they don’t want it, and you don’t feel like cooking it); switch it up. Some days, go down the other street that brings you out, to the street that you normally take to go to work, or, surprise your family with steak, rice, gravy and string beans on Tuesday evening, instead of that fried chicken that they are so used to having – balance it out. In doing so, it helps relieve you of the stress of feeling like life is so hum drum. I guarantee when you add balance to your life, it puts you, and everyone else around you, in a harmonious atmosphere. That’s the power of balance; it will peacefully change your atmosphere. Uh-oh, there goes that word again, that Keli D (another contributor) talked about. So, as you go about your day today, or this evening, begin to balance out some things in your life and find that happy medium, to the point, you can still get some of the same results, but just with a different method or means. I guarantee, when you do so, you will feel like a brand new you. Enjoy the rest of your day. Peace & Love…

Variety is the spice of life I hear. And I so agree. A routine is understanding but every now and then it doesn't hurt to attempt something new.
