"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"The Pleasures of Solitude"

Happy Friday – We have made it through to the end of another week – Yeah!!! The word Friday, in and of itself, carries, an energy. It is the day that represents, that the weekend is here, and we can finally let loose from all that had has bogged us down during the week. For some, hitting the club, seeing a movie, or going out to dinner with friends and loved ones, is a great stress release from a rigorous week. But then for others, they just enjoy the quietness of solitude and the peace that it brings, from all the mental and physical chaos; and that’s the word that I want to bring to the forefront today. Solitude is a word that most people don’t talk about, because when we think of what it means, we know it represents aloneness, seclusion or isolation; and for most of us, we hate the fact of just being alone, with ourselves. But solitude, if I can help you to understand it, has some pleasurable benefits. And the first benefit, is, that it allows you to recognize who you really are. When you spend time with yourself, you will discover some great qualities that maybe you have overlooked, about yourself. The second benefit of it, is that it keeps you focused on the things that are priority in your life; sometimes when we are too busy, we fail to recognize what really matters most. And lastly, although, there are still so many more wonderful benefits to this word, that most people are afraid to indulge in, solitude helps you to weed out individuals who are not deserving, to be in your space. That’s why it’s a good thing to try it every now and then. Now am I telling you what to do, certainly not, but I am making a suggestion about something that perhaps you never had perceived before, about this word called solitude. In closing, whatever you choose to do this weekend, by all means, enjoy it; but if you happen to get a few minutes of solitude, delight in those moments. Have a great weekend. Peace & Love….
