"Loving You"
Happy Saturday - The late Minnie Riperton had a song that was very popular in the late 70's called, "Loving You". When you listened to the lyrics, you could hear the pureness of how she felt about the one she loved. As I thought about it, it prompted this in my heart. Tomorrow, is Valentine's Day; a day that is set aside on the calendar for us to show, how much we love each other. The mall, the card stores, and flower shops are crowded with people spending all kinds of money trying to buy the perfect gift that they think would show that certain someone, how special they are to them. But here is my question, why does it have to be that one day, when we display that kind of affection for one another? Can't we show each other all year long. Why can't we send roses on any day, just because you ran across our mind. Or, why can't we pick up a piece of jewelry, because when we saw it, we imagined it on you. Does love only magically manifest on Valentine's Day? I think not. Love is something that should be given purely and genuinely from our hearts, every day. I mean think about it, if the only time the person you were in love with only showed you love once a year, you would be heated. In your mind, you would be thinking, don't I mean more to you, than this one day. And if the person has any sense, they better say yes (smile). Come on sisters and brothers, don't let Valentine's Day be your only day, show your love and affection for your special person every day. With all that is going on in the world today (fighting, death, hatred, etc.), special love should not be limited to this one particular day; special love should be given freely every day to the ones we hold dear, each day. So, when you see your love one tonight, tell them that you love them, and if you talk to them on the phone, before you hang up, tell them that you love them. And guess what, it won't take anything away from you. Loving and being in love is a beautiful thing, and if you do it on a daily basis, Valentine's Day will be just another day. Love you guys...
