Happy Memorial Day - Ladies, I hope you have had a great weekend thus far. To all my sisters who held it down and made that time-in-a-half this weekend; loan your sistah $2o (lol). No, enjoy your time of rest; maybe someone will serve you today. I pray everyone arrived to their destinations without any problems (including not getting a speeding ticket); I know there are still some of us who can't control that lead foot.
This morning, as I flicked through the TV channels, I came across a Memorial Program that was dedicated to the war Veterans. As I watched this program, I was moved by the family members and children who were visiting the graves of their loved ones. I watched as one mother and daughter sung happy birthday to her husband and father, then they a showed a husband and wife crying over their son; the father whose grief was still very surreal, after his wife backed away, laid at his son's grave site and continued to cry. As I watched this, I started thinking: for some of them, this was their only child, and the only thing they are left with now, is a void and a memory. Think about that for a minute; losing your only child; it's bad enough losing any love one, but your only. You feel it don't you. Today, as we enjoy this day with our family members, let us not forget those who do not have theirs any longer, because they chose to serve their country to protect us. As I close, I leave you with what the Lord moved on my heart, that I shared on Facebook this morning: To all of the families whose love ones are serving for our safety, thank you for sharing them, for us; to all of the Veterans who have served and survived a war, thank you for service; and to all of those who have died to protect us, you are not forgotten -- we salute you today. Today, as we sit around the grill to celebrate and to give thanks, please remember to send a prayer up for those families whose hearts are heavy, and for our men and women who are serving our country. Peace & Love...
