"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"Your Something New"

Happy Thursday – One more day, and then the weekend is here – yess!!!! This post today, is dedicated to my sisters who are going through, the “empty nest syndrome.” If I may share the thought with you today, “something new”, I hope it will spark something on the inside of you. As I children grow, and begin to move out of the nest, whether they’re going off to college or moving out on their own, we as mothers begin to feel a sense of emptiness. We walk around our house, and start thinking to ourselves, what am I going to do now; I have no more babies to take care of? Well, that’s the time to start thinking about “something new”. Something new, designed especially for you. Often times, when our children are little, we think about things that we would like to do once they get grown. Well, sisters, that time is here. What are you feeling in your spirit now? Are you feeling that business that you want to start? Are you going to join that gym so that you can be a better and healthier you? Are you feeling that book club that you think would be nice for mothers, who are in the same boat as you? How about that program you wanted to start to help whomever? Whatever you’re feeling, begin to start your something new. And I’m not saying that you will automatically transition into it, as it will be different, due to the fact that your life has been centered around caring for others for so long, but at least, you will be able to start doing some of those things that you have long desired in your heart to do. So now that you have all this free time on your hands, how do you begin to start doing those things? Start with writing out your “something new”. Put it on paper, and then go from there. Second, network with people who share some of the same interests as you; in order to get to where you are going; sometimes you have to learn from those who may be already there. And lastly, don’t doubt yourself, when things don’t go the way you think they should, just learn the lesson, and keep plugging away, until your “something new” comes into fruition; because, it’s going to come. And when it does, you will be elated. And after it is all said and done, and you are somewhere quiet, you will look back and say, I did this; this was my “something new.” Enjoy the rest of your day sisters. Peace & Love…
