"Welcome Beautiful Ones"

DGWOS is not a page where we bash, hate, use foul language, or tear down one's character through jealousy and envy. It is a page designed to inspire, to celebrate, to encourage and to promote self-love. This page wants to catapult you into a stronger and better you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Throughout the month, seasoned "Women of Substance" will share their experiences and thoughts to remind you that you are the diamond that God has intended for you to be. Please note: we are not psychiatrists or psychologists, nor do we profess to be perfect; but what we are, are women, mothers and grandmothers, who have been through the trials and errors of life and now want to help guide you through the same, if you choose to accept our views as you travel on this same wonderful journey called life. As a follower we only have two requests: 1) you share this blog with others and 2) strive every day to be the best you, you can be.
Ladies, let this blog be the reflection of what true, exquisite diamonds look like.

Peace and Love....

"Take a Break"

Happy Fourth of July Ladies - I am in my hometown - Philadelphia. I know it has been a while since I last wrote in; so much has been going on. I literally, had to take a break, so that I could regroup, rethink and get some direction; it was so needed. Now, I'm back.

I think my last positing was the announcement of my new great niece. With that being said, we (our family) have been taking this time to help my niece adjust to motherhood, which in turn, has us all exhausted (lol). I remember when my grand-daughter was born, I didn't have the opportunity to become tired, because she lived in Philly. But can I share, having a newborn, is like having a job. Nonetheless, she is a beautiful joy.

I pray everyone is having a great holiday weekend with their friends and love ones, and that you are staying cool. The heat out there, ain't no joke. I'm waiting for the sun to go down, so that we can sit on the steps and porch, and reminisce about the good old days, like family normally does when they get together. Then after the sun goes down, and the moon begins to present itself, we will all try and find a spot, where we can all gather together and watch the fireworks that the city provides for the holiday. And then after that, we will come back to the same steps, and continue that same conversation we had before we left. In closing enjoy the time you have with your love ones; and yes, even the ones that get on your nerves, because you never know what the future holds. Ladies, be safe, have fun, enjoy life, and don't eat too much chicken and ribs (lol...) I love you all. Peace & Love....
