"Free At Last"
Happy Sunday - Sunday morning, is the day that the majority of us flood into sanctuaries all over the country to give our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, praise. Today, as I meditated on His goodness, the word Freedom came to mind. Unless you have been bound in some form or fashion, you will never truly understand the power of freedom. In the scripture, Luke 4:18, the Lord talks about deliverance to the captive. As I continued to meditate, I thought about what it feels like to be captive. For years, I walked around in that state, and didn't even know it. I was captive in my mind, I was captive in my body, my spirit, by fear, and to the opinions of man. When captive in your mind, you have the tendency to believe the lies of the enemy and people, which in turn, will bind you in your body and spirit. But what I found out, as I grew in the Lord, is that once He comes in, and you begin to believe His promises, bondage can no longer take hold of you, unless, you allow it to. His freeing power, will release you from the snares of the enemy, as well as the thoughts of man. Most of us say, "I don't care what people think." And for the second that you say it out of your mouth, you believe it. But the truth of the matter is, if we didn't care, what people thought, then why do we allow them to dictate our destiny. Many of us have things that we want to do or try, but the moment we share it, and someone states, "why you want to do that, or, "if I was you, I don't think I would do that." Well, they are not you, and they do not have any power to hold you back from what the Father has already done for you, and that is, set you free. Not only did He free us from the shackles of sin, but He liberated us to do great and mighty things. Another thing that I have learned about freedom, is that it builds confidence. Confidence is something, that most of us think, comes from having a lot of materialism, and if that's how you feel, then okay. But I find that true confidence comes in, when you know who you are. And who am I, you might ask yourself - well you're the one that He has set free. Enjoy your Freedom sisters, and don't allow people, or things, or even you, to continue to bind you any longer. In closing to this thought, I leave you with this scripture: "if the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." (John 8:36). Meditate on that....Peace & Love....
